Good flood lights not only provide good lighting but also save energy. Once you decide to set up any type of outdoor LED floodlight, we recommend that you consider the following.

Power selection

Floodlights range in wattage from 20W to 1000W; however, how much wattage should I choose? If you plan to use the light for your backyard at home, BBQ parties, or outdoor events, the lux level should be around 100. How to find the corresponding wattage? For example, if you have a yard of 50 square meters, the required brightness is 50 x 100 = 5000 lumens. For an LED with 130 lumens per watt, the power required is 5000 / 130 = 38.5W. So a 40W LED would be suitable. This value will increase with the size of your backyard as well as your lux requirements.

Service life

Lamps that last longer are always your best bet, as new lights can be expensive to buy and install, especially if you're doing a major replacement. LEDs can operate for 22 years if left on for 10 hours a day.

Waterproof

Water resistance is an important feature of outdoor LED floodlights. In order to be able to work in rain and snow storms, the luminaire should have at least an IP65 degree of protection.

Cooling function

A good floodlight should have an effective cooling system to transfer heat from the internal structure to the outside. Aluminum is a good conductive material for making heat dissipation systems. We can choose LEDs made of aluminum or related alloys.

Warranty period

A longer warranty period can reduce your maintenance costs, you should choose floodlights with a warranty of more than 5 years
